INTERWOVEN offers seminars and masterclasses dedicated to the study and practice of intercultural music-making. Our curriculum engages with multicultural composition, provides critical and experiential introductions to Asian instruments and traditional repertoires, and includes advanced coaching in chamber music. INTERWOVEN presents a curated selection of iconic folk songs and historically significant compositions from across Asia, offering audiences an immersive introduction to the tonal languages, aesthetic principles, and cultural contexts of Eastern musical traditions. Through these works, listeners encounter distinctive melodic structures, timbral qualities, and performance practices that have shaped generations of musical expression.
Building on this foundation, the program then transitions to contemporary compositions that explore the convergence of Eastern and Western musical idioms. These newer works interlace diverse sonic traditions, highlighting innovative approaches to form, texture, and collaboration.
